“Free ME – The Ritual” is an immersive, multimedia, installation. After guests digitally acquired their wings for flight, they flew through a rainbow into the “Meditation” room. There they meditated, thought of a woe to be rid of in the “Expulsion” room. standing in the expulsion circle they freed themselves from their woe by shouting out “FREE ME”. Their glow sticks was added to the wall and a light painting was create at the end of the night, symbolizing renewed hope, and for a few fleeting moments all guests were freed from their “woe”.

These amulets were created in hopes of protecting the vulnerable communities and groups based on sex, race, age and sexual orientation. The choice of material (legos) and colors were chosen to represent these targeted groups. Each amulet is circled by a ring of bullet shells which have fallen short of the crosses, as if protected by an invisible force. Sounds of sporadic gun shots will be heard throughout the duration of the exhibition adding the fear of that call of death.
